Dr. Vicki Callahan has been serving as the Interim Chief of Staff for VA Eastern Colorado Health Care System since March 4, 2024. Dr. Callahan currently serves as the Chief of Staff of VA
Central Iowa Health Care System in Des Moines, Iowa, where she has served since May 8, 2023. Dr. Callahan formerly worked at the Kansas City VA Hospital, where she served as deputy chief of
staff from February 2020 to May 2023. During this time, she was the detailed chief of staff at the Bedford VA Hospital in Bedford MA from July to November 2022. She previously served as
the chief of surgery at the VA Black Hills Health Care System in Fort Meade SD from September 2017 to February 2020. Prior to joining the VHA, she worked as an anesthesiologist at the North
Colorado Medical Center and Banner Health, in Greeley, Colorado. Before completing anesthesia residency and cardiac anesthesia fellowship, Dr. Callahan completed an internship at Brooke Army
Medical Center and served as a U.S. Navy physician. Dr. Callahan is an ABA Board Certified Anesthesiologist with a subspecialty in cardiac anesthesiology.
