A multi-vehicle crash shut down a highway connector ramp in Mission Valley Tuesday morning and left one vehicle engulfed in flames.
The wreck was reported at about 8:30 a.m. on the westbound Interstate 8 connector ramp to southbound State Route 163, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash — involving a Ford F150 pickup truck, a Honda sedan and possibly a third vehicle — left the vehicles disabled in the left lane of the connector ramp and one of them engulfed in
flames, the CHP reported.
An ambulance was called to the scene, but it was not immediately clear if anyone was taken to a hospital, a CHP dispatcher said.
A SigAlert was issued around 8:40 a.m. shutting down the westbound I-8 connector ramp to southbound SR-163 for at least 45 minutes.
