Alleged Solana Beach Kidnapper Bails Out of Jail

A young man accused of attempting to duct tape and kidnap a 7 year-old girl from her Solana Beach school last month bailed out of jail Saturday.

Jack Henry Doshay, 22, of Fairbanks Ranch, was being held on $2.5 million bail after he pleaded not guilty to charges of kidnapping, false imprisonment and child cruelty earlier this month.

Prior to Thursday he had been held without bail since his arrest on April 1, a week after the alleged abduction took place.

Vista Superior Court Judge William Gentry said that if Doshay posts bail, he must be taken immediately to an in-patient psychological facility, wear a GPS anklet 24 hour a day, give up his

passport and refrain from driving.

On March 23, Doshay allegedly grabbed the girl from Skyline Elementary School, held his hand over her mouth, tried to put packing tape over her face and ordered her to get into his

silver-and-black SUV. After the girl put up a struggle, Doshay let her go and fled the scene, authorities said.

Detectives caught up with Doshay in Orange County after following up on almost 150 tips and information provided by his attorney, Paul Pfingst.

An affidavit in support of an arrest warrant stated Doshay’s father Glenn — a prominent San Diego businessman — told his son’s therapist two days after the attempted abduction that he

suspected his son was involved in the incident.
