New Apple TV app icons (Image: 9to5Mac)&nbsp After over 18 years of service, it seems Apple's iconic iTunes which changed the face of how everyone listened to music could be very

well be taken off the shelf. The music app we all came to know, in all sense of probability, will cease to exist. According to a new report by 9to5Mac, Apple had announced that they will be

bringing their newly revamped TV app to the Apple Mac soon enough which led to the inference that Apple could very well be opening the door to other media apps which will come to the Mac

soon, and finally splitting up iTunes into distinct applications. The new report has stated that the Cupertino giant is working on a stand-alone range of apps which will include the TV,

Music, and Podcast apps with their new universal framework which is called the Marzipan. If this comes true, developers will be able to save time and resources in optimisation work as iOS

designed apps could be seamlessly ported on to Macs. The 9to5Mac report explains they were able to confirm the fact that the next major version of the MacOS which is the 10.15 will bring in

standalone Music, Podcasts, and TV apps. The move will also bring a major redesign of the Books app. The new Music, Podcasts, and TV apps will be made using Marzipan which is Apple's

new technology which has been designed to facilitate the porting of iPad apps to the Mac without too many code changes. It is not clear, however, whether the redesigned Apple Books app will

also be made using this technology. The reason being that the redesign came to iOS first and its use for other apps. It is, however, likely that the new books will be made using the UIKit.

So, the standalone versions of the Apple's media apps which are coming to the Mac bring in iTunes in the macOS 10.15. While the 9to5Mac report quotes that the next major version of the

macOS will still include the iTunes app. This is considering Apple still has not provided a different manner of connecting/syncing devices such as old iPods and iPhones with the Mac, hence

it is understandable to keep the iTunes here a little longer.
