Goldfielders have shown their enthusiasm for fitness by supporting the launch of Kalgoorlie-Boulder’s first parkrun event on Saturday. About 100 people attended the free event, which will

run weekly in Karlkurla Park at 8am every Saturday. More than 180 are registered to participate. The worldwide initiative provides a 5km timed track for walkers and runners of all abilities.

Organiser Allison Hunter said she was “blown away” by the community’s response. “It was amazing to see the support from the community. We were expecting about 50 to turn up so it was just

outstanding,” she said. “We are still hoping to have more people join in, it’s such a great event and we have had a lot of positive feedback from the launch." To register for the event

and receive your barcode, head to the parkrun website www.parkrun. com.au/Kalgoorlieboulder, or phone Allison Hunter on 0448 505 204 for more information. GET THE LATEST NEWS FROM
