Hawkstone closes in on us lithium clay resource

US-focussed lithium clay developer, Hawkstone Mining, has wrapped up its 37-hole, Phase 2 diamond drilling campaign at the emerging Big Sandy project in Arizona with more high-grade lithium

intersections and it now expects to release a maiden JORC resource by late September. Top intersections from the final three holes included 34 metres grading 1966 per million lithium from

31m down-hole, 17m @ 2,386ppm lithium from 12m and 33m @ 1,791ppm lithium from 30m within the same hole and 31m @ 1,999 lithium from 66m. Managing Director Paul Lloyd said: _“High grade

intercepts have continued, and the assay results from the last 3 diamond drill holes further demonstrate the significant potential of the Big Sandy project, and importantly, mineralisation

remains open to the north, south and west.”_ _“This is especially significant for drill hole DHQ32A located 100m to the west of the most north-westerly hole in the program DHQ3, as it shows

the known mineralisation to continue to the west outside of the limits of the planned program and places the company in a very strong position to significantly expand the resources through

further drilling”_ Hawkstone will now appoint consultants to complete a pre-feasibility study for the project. It will also carry out reconnaissance sampling of newly identified exploration

targets and move to drill areas B and C to the north and south of the recently completed Phase 2 drill campaign. Big Sandy is located within the US’ “battery mineral corridor” in western

Arizona, which includes Tesla Motors’ lithium-ion Gigafactory 1 near Reno in Nevada state. The project area contains an exciting looking 11km long lithium-rich clay horizon with simple
