Eating dark chocolate appears to improve cardiovascular health, new research shows. Researchers analysed 44 middle-aged overweight men who ate 70 grams of dark chocolate per day, over two
periods of four weeks. The study found dark chocolate helped restore flexibility to the participants’ arteries, and also prevented white blood cells sticking to artery walls. Both these
factors commonly lead to atherosclerosis – a condition involving the hardening and narrowing of arteries. The findings may assist in the development of therapies that have a similar effect
