Intracoronary streptokinase in acute myocardial infarction

Despite angiographically successful primary percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) in patients with ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction, microcirculatory failure is common and leads


to an increased risk of morbidity and mortality. The administration of intracoronary streptokinase immediately after PCI may improve outcomes and provides a promising potential therapy for
