The story 'Funding agencies toughen stance on open access' (_Nature_, 443, 894–895; 2006 doi:10.1038/443894b) incorrectly stated that the American Physiological Society (APS)

refused to comply with Wellcome Trust guidelines for making publications openly accessible. In fact, the APS is still in negotiations with the trust, and has not reached a final decision.
