Today, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet remains a popular shopping destination and the country's biggest designer outlet, attracting shoppers from Merseyside and beyond. And this year
marks the 30th anniversary since it first opened to the public. When it opened for the first time in 1995, it began life with just 24 stores, taking up 101,000sq ft of space. Ever since,
Cheshire Oaks has been a go-to venue for a special occasion, a Christmas shopping tradition, or a regular family trip. Today, the much-loved designer outlet has 140-plus stores and 20 food
partners on a site which is four times the size it was when it launched. This year, Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet is celebrating its 30th birthday and this Friday, June 6, it will be
transformed for an evening of "live music, fashion nostalgia and community spirit." READ MORE: 'LAST CALL' AS BUILDING WITH 'TIMELESS CHARACTER' TO GO UNDER THE

construction of Cheshire Oaks Designer Outlet in the mid-90s and how it had developed by the end of that decade. Others, courtesy of our archive Mirrorpix, show the first day it opened as
well as the early phases of the outlet that followed. Many of these have been unseen for years - but we've also included a few throwback photos of shoppers and the different businesses
