Metro bus evacuated after report of man armed with gun

Los Angeles County sheriff’s transit deputies cleared a Metro bus of passengers one-by-one Wednesday morning in Historic South-Central L.A. after a person reported seeing a man with a gun on

board, authorities said. The report of an armed man was relayed by a passenger to a dispatcher for transit deputies about 7:06 a.m. near the intersection of Vermont Avenue and Martin Luther

King Jr. Boulevard, sheriff’s Capt. Mike Parker said. Transit deputies stopped the bus at Broadway and removed all 60 passengers safely. The man who was reportedly carrying a gun apparently

exited at a stop prior to deputies arriving. He was described as being with three other people, two of whom were detained after being evacuated off the Metro bus. Authorities were reviewing
