On Feb. 8 Superior Court Judge Judith C. Chirlin put Omar Bradley back in the Compton mayor’s office based on a theory of primacy (Feb. 9). She admitted that Eric Perrodin did nothing
illegal; however, she still ousted a man who had been doing a terrific job as mayor for all the citizens of Compton. In my opinion the judge’s decision shows a poor sense of judgment.
Removing an elected official from office because his name was first on the ballot has basically stripped Compton citizens of their voting rights. Chirlin doesn’t have any ties to the city of
Compton; therefore she didn’t have any clue how the citizens of Compton were treated under Bradley’s governance. He had no sense of democracy as he conducted City Council meetings and ran
the city like a dictatorship. Without this knowledge the judge’s decision leaves the people of Compton in a state of dictatorial rule. Marjorie A. Shipp Compton MORE TO READ
