Two people were unharmed after their small plane crashed Sunday in a remote area of northern Ventura County near Frazier Park, police said. The Cessna 172 crashed about 11:20 a.m. after it
hit power lines, according to Ventura County Sheriff’s Deputy Joe Vanni, who witnessed the incident. The plane attempted to land on a private dirt runway just north of Lockwood Valley Road
near Adams Trail, Vanni said. After touching down briefly, the plane accelerated, attempting to gain altitude. The plane seemed to have difficulty gaining altitude, and its left wing caught
a power line--causing it to crash, Vanni said. The pilot, 64-year-old George Novinger of Tehachapi, and the only passenger, 16-year-old Brian Fuller of Puyallup, Wash., were unharmed, and
the plane was intact, Vanni said. Power to the area was shut down automatically upon the plane’s impact, police said. MORE TO READ
