Ventura County’s only locally based National Public Radio affiliate is holding a benefit concert Sunday. The KCLU event will feature National Public Radio newscaster Carl Kasell as master of
ceremonies. He also will speak about his 44-year career in radio. The Poncho Sanchez Jazz Band will bring its Latin jazz rhythm to the event at the Spanish Hills Country Club in Camarillo
at 4 p.m. The band has performed throughout Europe and the United States and has received three Grammy nominations. The concert is a major fund-raiser for the station, which is supported by
listeners and Cal Lutheran University but receives no public funds. Tickets to the concert cost $75. For more information, call 493-3900. MORE TO READ
