Amateur radio lovers will have more chances to read about their craft in local libraries. The Conejo Valley Amateur Radio Club has purchased several amateur radio manuals and magazines and
donated them to four local libraries. Publications such as “Radio Amateurs Handbook,” “Your VHF Companion” and “CQ Magazine” will appear on the shelves of the Thousand Oaks, Newbury Park,
Westlake Village and Moorpark libraries beginning this week. “The manuals that do exist in local libraries are heavily used,” said CVARC President Peter Heins, who estimated that more than
100 amateur radio operators live in the Conejo Valley. “Many [manuals] are out of date, which is what sparked this effort.” Until now, the Moorpark and Westlake Village libraries have not
had any books on amateur radio in their collections. Heins said the group spent about $300 on the publications. MORE TO READ
