Cleveland 14, Monroe 14--Cleveland quarterback Delvon McDaniel was stopped on the Monroe four-yard line as time expired in the game at Cleveland. McDaniel, a running back who replaced
injured David Erhardt (suspected hip-pointer) at the start of the third quarter, guided the Cavaliers to one score at quarterback--a two-yard plunge by Manny Valencia that tied the score,
14-14, midway through the third quarter. Valencia had a game-high 43 yards in nine carries. Before leaving the game, Erhardt completed four of seven passes for 45 yards and one interception.
McDaniel, who gained 31 yards in nine carries, was two for four with one interception. He scored on a 21-yard run to start the second quarter and tie the score at 7-7. Monroe (0-1-1) was
held to 115 yards in offense, but the Vikings turned two Cleveland turnovers into touchdowns. MORE TO READ
