San Diego police shot an Ocean Beach man in the shoulder Friday, allegedly after he pointed a shotgun at officers who had entered his home at his wife’s request. The man’s name had not been
released by late Friday night. The woman called police about 3 p.m. Friday and asked them to search her home in the 4400 block of Green Street before she went in to retrieve some of her
property. She wanted police to check out the house because her husband had been acting strangely and she suspected he might be on drugs, Sgt. Nate Caplan said. While police were searching
the first floor, the husband appeared at the top of the stairs with a shotgun, Caplan said. He pointed the gun at the officers, and one of them fired one shot, striking the man in the
shoulder, Caplan said. The man was taken to UC San Diego Medical Center, where he was in good condition Friday night, a hospital spokeswoman said. MORE TO READ
