PHOENIX — Armon Gilliam scored 25 points and Tom Chambers 23 as the Phoenix Suns won their eighth consecutive home game Saturday night, beating the Clippers, 133-91, the 19th consecutive
road loss for the Clippers. Phoenix is 27-4 at home this season and 21-0 here against Western Conference competition after the victory--one shy of the franchise’s most lopsided win ever
(142-99 over the New Orleans Jazz on Jan. 11, 1978). The Clippers, 2-32 on the road this season including an 0-12 mark against Pacific Division opponents, have now lost 31 of their last 32
games overall and 12 straight. The Suns, who never trailed en route to winning for the 24th time in their last 26 home games, led 34-24 after the first period and by a 61-46 count as
halftime. Gilliam, who had 13 third-quarter points, keyed runs of 6-1 and 12-1 for a 79-52 lead with 8:17 left. The Clippers got no closer than 21 points in the fourth quarter. Norm Nixon
and rookie Gary Grant scored 15 points apiece for the Clippers. MORE TO READ
