Traffic jams on jmu-sgr highway become order of day

The traffic jams on Jammu-Srinagar highway between Ramban- Ramsu stretch and Ramsu-Banihal stretch have become an order of the day. According to commuters and drivers, there is hardly any

day when you don’t witness traffic jams on this these stretches of the highway. They said that vehicles remain stranded in the jams for hours together but the administration and the

concerned authorities are least bothered to address the problem as no step has been taken to address the issues causing traffic jams.    They complained that assurances of officers and

management of contractor companies regarding these stretches of the highway have fallen flat. The said that scenario is worst from Shan Palace Naka to Battery Chasma. The people of various

tehsils of the district like Ukhral, Khari and Banihal are the worst sufferers, they said.
