On Wednesday 20th May, Nerja Town Hall and the British Consulate in Malaga are hosting a free information event at the Centro Cultural in Nerja to help residents find out about how to
register for healthcare, social and other services.
The Healthcare Team will talk about the “convenio especial”, a special pay-in public health insurance scheme in Andalusia for people not otherwise covered for state-run healthcare, such as
early retirees. The team will also be explaining how to register for healthcare in general, and how to get a Spanish EHIC card if you are a worker or a pensioner.
There will also be recommendations from the National Police on how to avoid falling victim to crime and how to get help if you are unlucky enough to do so, information on driving regulations
from the Guardia Civil, advice on legal issues from an English-speaking lawyer, and tips on preparing for the inevitability of death from a local funeral director.
Following the presentations, the audience will be able to ask the panel any questions and raise any concerns.
British Vice Consul in Málaga, Rosslyn Crotty MBE, comments:
Admission is free but attendees are asked to register their interest either by email to [email protected] or by signing up on the Event Page on the British Embassy Brits Living in
