Having won the Texel breed championship and henry and Tina Ashley’s aged ewe has just taken the interbreed championship under judge Johnny Aitken. This was the first time out for the ewe


whihc stood unbeaten when shown as a shearling ewe. By Meinspride Lord, she is one of 50 ewes run by the father and daughter partnership. The ewe will next appear at Lincoln Show next week.


Describing his champion Mr Aitken said: “The Texel ewe paraded well and is good on her legs.” He found his reserve in the form of the Suffolk champion, a ewe lamb from John Gent. This


AI-bred ewe lamb is by Strathisla Speed and is out of a homebred ewe from John’s 100-ewe flock. Standing reserve in the native interbreed championship was Charles and Sally Horrell’s


Hampshire Down ewe lamb, while the reserve interbreed went to a shearling ewe from Charles Sercombe.
