UPS NAMES LONG PRESIDENT OF NEW CONSULTING UNIT
UPS said Monday it has launched UPS Consulting, a subsidiary offering supply chain management strategies that go beyond distribution and delivery services. UPS named Gene Long as
president of the new subsidiary. Long had been global director of supply chain management for Ernst & Young. “Businesses often miss the mark by neglecting to integrate supply chain
management strategies into their overall marketing plans,” Long said. “UPS Consulting will help with the re-engineering to end that neglect.” Atlanta-based UPS had revenues of $29.8
billion in 2000, and delivered more than 3.5 billion packages and documents worldwide.
