Pacer hires two Ozburn-Hessey executives Pacer International continued its makeover Monday with the announcement that John Hafferty has replaced Brian Kane as chief financial officer and
Michael Burns has been appointed chief commercial officer in place of Adrienne Bailey. Hafferty joins the company from Ozburn-Hessey Logistics' international division, where he was
chief financial officer. His previous experience also includes stints as senior vice president for corporate strategy and development for Schenker Logistics Co.'s Americas unit,
executive vice president UPS Supply Chain Solutions, and chief financial officer of UPS's international package division. Burns was executive vice president of global sales and
marketing for Ozburn-Hessey. Before that he was senior vice president global automotive and industrial for DHL Logistics, and held senior roles at Exel, now part of Deutsche Post World
Net's logistics portfolio. Kane was promoted to CFO in September 2008 after previously serving as COO of the company's intermodal segment. Bailey became chief commercial officer
in May 2009. Both will remain with the company through June to help with the transition. Pacer also said Robert Williams has been hired as vice president of human resources. He replaces
Karen Rice, who held the job since June 2008. During the past 18 months Pacer has transformed its business model from a wholesale provider of intermodal services to one that provides
direct, end-to-end service to shippers.
