Britons looking for a free day out this spring have plenty of attractions to choose from. New research from the team at GO Outdoors has found the UK’s best free attraction to discover on a


staycation.  London’s Science Museum grabbed first place on the list and was the UK’s most searched for free attraction. A tourist ‘Jonathon Quinton’ wrote on Tripadvisor: “Love the Science


Museum, fantastic history of science including a history of some of our beliefs before we knew better.” ‘Fabio D’ said: “The best museum I’ve ever been to! Every time I go to London, I go to


the Science Museum and take my friends with me.” Opened in 1909, the museum is just a short walk from other free attractions such as the V&A and the Natural History Museum. Currently,


tourists can learn more about the race for a Covid vaccine or track the history of flight in special museum exhibitions. The National Museum of Liverpool grabbed second place on the list and


could be a great additional stop for fans visiting the city for Eurovision. The waterfront museum explores Liverpool’s diverse history, including its impressive roster of famous musicians

SHOULD STEER CLEAR OF Durham Cathedral landed just outside the top three. The historic landmark was built in the late 11th century and is a UNESCO World Heritage Centre. The attraction is


also popular with Harry Potter fans as the site was used for locations in several of the films. Oxford’s Bodleian Library was the UK’s fifth best rated attraction and is one of the


university’s most impressive libraries. The incredible attraction is one of Europe’s oldest libraries and only second in size to the British Library.
