Netflix series Girls From Impanema – previously known as The Most Beautiful Thing - will be released on Netflix on June 19 with six new episodes for fans to enjoy. The Brazilian series first
aired back in 2019 with the show getting a renewal for a second outing. Express.co.uk looks at the cast of the new series of the Girls From Impanema and where you might have seen them
before.
Set in 1950s Rio de Janeiro, the show initially followed a housewife who departed from São Paulo and headed to the carnival city to open a restaurant with her husband.
However, she was left devastated after discovering he’d left her and took her money.
Instead of being defeated by such a betrayal, she determined to build a new life for herself in Rio de Janeiro and make new friends.
The streaming platform recently dropped a new trailer to whet the appetite of fans and gave a hint of things to come including new cast members.
Season two will follow the titular girls of the show, charting their highs and lows in 1960 Brazil.

Maria Casadevall will be reprising her role as the lead Malú , who going to continue to strive to follow her dreams while balancing her job and motherhood.
She previously starred in TV series Dark Days, Iron Island and I Love Paraisópolis, along with roles in the movies Mulheres Alteradas and Depois de Tudo.
Pathy Dejesus will be returning as Adélia Araújo, who is preparing to get married but before this has been thinking a lot about the past and is hoping to make a fresh start.
Before starring in Girls From Impanema, Dejesus appeared in Rotas do Ódio, Rua Augusta, Amor e Revolução and Ways of the Heart.

Mel Lisboa will be back as Thereza Soares, who in season two will be missing work after focusing on domestic life.
Among her other roles are The Secret Life of Couples, Pacto de Sangue and Os Dez Mandamentos.
Val Perré takes on the part of Adélia’s father Duke after starring in films including O Concurso, O Cavaleiro Didi e a Princesa Lili, A Máquina and TV shows such as Verão 90 and Além do
Tempo.
Taking on the role of Adélia’s teenage sister Ivone is Larissa Nunes after a small part in Netflix’s other big Brazilian series 3%
The character of Ivone shows much promise and will be helped out Malú as she tries to thrive in a male-dominated world.

Back again for another outing is Ícaro Silva as Capitão, who will be tying the knot with Adélia.
Silva’s previous credits include TV show The Big Catch, Noturnos and Edifício Paraíso.
Joining the cast this year will be Alejandro Claveaux as Thereza's new co-worker.
Breno Ferreira will be portraying Miltinho, who is a talented football player.
Reprising his part as ambitious music producer Roberto is Gustavo Machado.
Also returning as singer and performer Chico is actor Leandro Lima.
Alexandre Cioletti round off the supporting cast as he makes a comeback as Nelson.
In season two, Nelson will finally be taking on his parenting responsibilities and sharing then with Thereza in looking after his daughter from his romance with Adélia.
