Following news a federal judge in Hawaii issued a temporary restraining order, barring the executive order from taking effect on Thursday, Trump condemned the “terrible ruling” and promised

to fight back. Speaking at a rally in Nashville, Tennessee, the President told the crowds: “Moments ago I learned that a district judge in Hawaii, part of the much overturned ninth circuit

court – and I have to be nice, otherwise I’ll be criticised for speaking poorly about our courts [he points to the media here] … I would never want to do that. “A judge has just blocked our

executive order on travel and refugees coming into our country from certain countries. “The order he blocked was a watered-down version of the first order that was also blocked by another

judge and that should never have been blocked to start with. “This is, in the opinion of many, an unprecedented judicial overreach.” Trump promised to “fight this terrible ruling” and even

suggested the case could be taken to the Supreme Court for the first time. He added: “We’re going to take this as far as we need to, right up to the Supreme Court. “We’re talking about the

safety of our nation, the safety and security of our people. “We’re going to win. We’re going to keep our people safe.” Paul Ryan, the Republican House Speaker, said the ban was a necessary

measure and claimed he had no doubt the order would be upheld by higher courts. The case is now likely to move to the federal appeals circuit, and could eventually reach the Supreme Court,

the country’s highest judicature. Critics believe Trump’s motivation for bringing in the ban is to act on his campaign promise of "a total and complete shutdown of Muslims entering the

United States". _MORE TO FOLLOW..._
