The UK is in for a sizzling end to the working week as plumes of hot air moves in from across the continent. A high-pressure weather system will bring Indian Summer-style conditions with
large parts of the UK remaining dry and bright. Mercury is set to rocket to 26C in southern parts of England by Saturday. The glorious sunny conditions will push a jet stream of warm air in
a westerly direction as the day moves on. For large parts on Saturday the UK will see wall-to-wall sunshine, with highs of 20C in Wales and 19C in Scotland. Towards the end of the day there
will be a break in the searing tropical air which could bring some isolated showers across western parts of England and northern Scotland. The Met Office forecaster Nicky Moxey said: “It’s
going to be a nice week; a nice warm spell. “There’s a warm front running east to west and temperatures will be rising as the week goes on with Saturday being the warmest day with many
southern parts seeing temperatures around 25-26C. “High pressure is in charge all week except for the far northern parts of Scotland which will see some unsettled weather and the risk of
rain and drizzle.” The Weather Outlook forecaster Brian Gaze said: “26C is possible later in the coming week as a thrust of subtropical air brings Indian summer-style conditions, with plenty
of warm sunshine and beach weather for parts.” Jo Farrow senior forecaster at netweather.tv said the warm conditions will begin as early as Thursday, rising to the mid-20s on Friday. Ms
Farrow said: “This flow from the south will also draw up warmer air. “Temperatures rise on Thursday, into the low to mid 20s by Friday. “A few places the temperatures will plummet maybe down
to five or six degrees even lower than that in some sheltered spots. “It will be a chilly start to Wednesday.” When the morning chill and patchy mist and fog clear it will be mostly dry and
sunny, highs of 19C.
