Apple iPad news update as leak reveals new tablet could launch NEXT MONTH

Apple will host its yearly developers conference next month where it’s likely to unveil a host of new software improvements.

The US tech giant often uses its WWDC event to unveil updates to its iOS and macOS operating systems.

But there have also been years when Apple also unleashes some new hardware on to the market during the hugely popular event.

Rumours are rife that Apple could announce a Siri-powered smart speaker at WWDC which would take aim at Amazon’s award-winning Echo device.

However, a smart speaker may not be the only new product coming from Apple next month with reports suggesting another iPad could be shown to the world.

Apple recently released a new tablet that is aimed at bringing its brilliant experience to users at a much lower price.

Apple does, of course, also have its more expensive iPad Pro range and these top of the range tablets haven’t been updated for a while.

In fact, the original 12.9-inch iPad Pro hasn’t seen a refresh in almost two years.

To add to the speculation an image has recently appeared online showing a new case designed for a 10.5-inch display - something Apple currently doesn’t produce.

Some rumours have suggested this new iPad will be a similar size to its current offering but will reduce the bezels to fit the bigger screen.

Some also believe the new iPad Pro will do away with the home button and feature a Touch ID scanner embedded in the screen, though it seems unlikely that Apple would release an iPad with a

new embedded fingerprint scanner before its new iPhone 8 is unveiled.

There’s no official confirmation if any of the rumours will become a reality with Apple staying usually tight-lipped about what its plans are.

Luckily, with WWDC just a few weeks away, there’s not long until we will find out exactly what the US technology giant has in store.
