A group of footballers are hoping to conquer a 156-mile walk while also visiting 20 football grounds in two days for charity.

Sixteen walkers hope to raise awareness and funds for the Darby Rimmer MND Foundation by completing a tour of football grounds across West Yorkshire. The walkers will complete the journey

walking stages in rotation.

The first group of walkers will leave at noon on June 6 and everybody involved should return around 3.30pm on June 8 at Ossett United.

The enthusiastic group have been inspired to take on the gruelling task by former footballers Stephen Darby and Marcus Stewart as they battle Motor Neurone Disease. The pair will also join

the men on the journey.

During the fundraiser, the men hope to visit all levels of the football pyramid in West Yorkshire, Greater Manchester and Cheshire. The route also includes Leeds United, Bradford City and

Stockport County, Altrincham, Brighouse Town and Atherton Collieries.

The men will not be alone as former professional footballers including many of Stephen's and Marcus' teammates plus 10-12 current and former players for Altrincham FC will also

join in. It is a personal mission as Altrincham had two former players who died with MND.
