well in excess of 100 cars have nominated for the race meeting so spectators are in for a huge night of top-quality competition.
The evening will host two memorial events the Derick Dunn memorial for modifieds, and the inaugural Mark Triffet memorial feature in AMCAs.
These races will be hotly contested as a fitting tribute to two well-respected competitors.
Ten modifieds have entered and this category always ensures very close proximity racing.
A massive 17-car field has entered the AMCA division, and the real interest will be current state champion Daniel Brooks.
On the lean: Steve Latham pours on the power at Carrick Speedway in his super sedan. Picture: Angryman Photography Brooks had a huge rollover last weekend and has been under pressure to
rebuild the car, so the question is, did he or didn’t he?
The big super sedans have their first race at Carrick for this season and also boast a solid car count.
Current Australian champion Callum Harper is the man everyone wants to beat and a dozen other drivers are fired up to attempt to do just that.
Look for major challenges from Steve Latham, Dave Nicholls, Brad Smith and Corey Smith.
Wingless sprints have an 18-car field and all the quick cars have entered including current state champion Brad Whitchurch, Wade Lello, Hayden McBain, Luke Redpath and Jeremy Smith.
With the Australian Championship to be held at this track in February every competitor is aiming to complete as many racing miles as possible in preparation for the big meeting.
Tassie sixes, will also be hotly contested with a 14-car field.
Cameron Briggs, Dwayne Sonners, Peter Johnstone and Drew Manswer who returns from a stint driving bombers will all be under pressure from the likes of Jarrod Francombe, Adrian Whickham and
Todd Russell.
A 15-car field of super-fast Formula 500s will start the evening and predicting a winner from the ultra competitive field will be almost impossible.
Junior sedans also have a massive entry list of 22 cars and young Jakobe Jetson is the current form driver.
Ellis Dickenson and Joe Dickerson can at times match the pace of Jetson however are yet to beat him head-to-head this season.
Gates open at 2pm and racing starts at 5pm.
