defending its state flag against Tasmania and has the chance of a hat trick of wins.

The division two side is also playing Tasmania who are the holders of that state flag.

Division three will be similarly keen to defend the state flag they secured last year and on Sunday play Claremont.

Launceston made the final courtesy of victories in the preliminary finals at Ulverstone last Sunday.

The division one team won 4/3 against Wynyard and had early winners in Mathew Long, Brett Churchill and Mitch Van Noord and it was Matt Marston who was steady under pressure over the closing

holes for a 3/1 result over Ben Johnson.

Wynyard had winners in Paul Marshall, Craig Hancock and Heath Middap.

Sunday’s final should be an epic struggle with Launceston the favourites having defeated Tasmania in their last two encounters but will certainly be tested given the depth of talent in the

Tasmania team that includes Nathan Gatehouse, Mark Schulze, Paul Read, Andrew Phillips, Stuart Bonnitcha, Richard Kube and Josh Spaulding.

Congratulations to Riverside who won the state division one women’s pennant defeating Ulverstone.

For Riverside Amanda Smith defeated Sarah Johnstone 3/2, Mel Thurlow defeated Rose Paton 3/1 and Kate Collings secured the flag with a 1 up win over Dianne Woodhouse.

Yvonne Harrison lost to Karen Ashley 3/1 and the match between Liz Williams and Sharon Crowden was halved.

Riverside also won the Elphinstone Shield, Greens Beach ladies continued their successful year winning the Watterson Shield against Thirlstane and Prospect Vale had a great win over

Ulverstone for the Conroy Shield.

Northern Golf conducts its Annual Dinner and Pennant Presentation ceremony at the Mowbray Golf Club on Friday July 8.

All pennant players and club members are invited to attend and payment needs to be with Adrian Dennis, General Manager at Mowbray by July 5.

Northern Golf has School Holiday tournaments set for July 5 at Prospect Vale, July 8 at Launceston, July 11 at Riverside and July 15 at Mowbray.

Due to the clash with state pennant the Junior Fundraising Day set for Sunday June 26 has been postponed and refunds will be sent to those that entered.

Mowbray hosted a Tasmanian Senior Ladies tournament on June 17 and 37 players competed in the steady rain.

Division 1 was won by Marie Myrander with 31 pts from Judith Bramich 23.

Glenda Embury won Division 2 with 33 pts from Janice Hatton 28 while Cheryl Atkins won Division 3 on a countback from Jillian Bye with 33 points.

Division 4 went to Margaret Devenoges with 30. Division 5 was won by Jan Stokes on 26.
