the Koderma district of Jharkhand and arrested three people. During the raids police recovered 5,450 detonators, 390 gelatine sticks and 15 bundles of fuse wire. Superintendent of Police
(SP), Koderma, Hemant Toppo, said that the police personnel have arrested three persons in the case and the department was probing the matter. "Yesterday, police raided Belatand forest
in the Gajandi roadway and arrested two persons, Balgovind Yadav and Jabar Ansari, who were carrying around 200 gelatine sticks and detonators on their bicycles. On the basis of the
statement given by them, a house falling under the Koderma police station was raided, and from the house of Anil Modi, huge quantity of explosives was seized," said Toppo. Police also
arrested the accused house owner and seized all the explosives, which the police suspects were being supplied to the Maoists. Maoists have significantly increased their presence in tribal
and rural regions of central and eastern India. The Maoists say they are fighting for the rights of millions of landless and poor labourers and marginal farmers.
