Like in the past years, hundreds of gamers are expected to participate from Bangalore for four games, the qualification of which will be spread out between Saturday and Sunday. The India


stage of the 10th World Cyber Games will kickstart in Bangalore on Saturday. Gamers from across the state will compete with each other to reach the national qualifiers which will be


organised in Mumbai on August 27 and 28. Like in the past years, hundreds of gamers are expected to participate from Bangalore for four games, the qualification of which will be spread out


between Saturday and Sunday. The gamers will compete in some of the most popular games namely, Counter Strike and FIFA Soccer 2010 on PC; Guitar Hero on Xbox360 and Asphalt on mobile


category. Apart from the official WCG games, there will be a contest for Cricket T20 fever. The enthusiasm is pretty high among gamers in the city for the tournament, and organisers are


expecting a good turn out this year as they had gone to each college to get gamers to sign up for the event. Ashish, an engineering student in the city, is planning to participate in the


tournament. “I haven’t participated in WCG before, and I’ll be participating in FIFA here. I’ve practising for a few weeks but I don’t think I’ll make it Mumbai; it’s still always worth a


try,” Ashish said. From each city, one team and one person will qualify for Counter Strike and FIFA for the national finals which will be organised in Mumbai. The national finals will be


organised at Essel World and the organisers have confirmed that gamers won’t have to pay any entry fee at the event. The organisers have also confirmed that they will be paying for the trip


of the winners of India stage to the international finals which will be organised in Los Angeles, US, from September 20 to October 1. Gamers could register for the finals through WCG India


website (wcgindia.com) and for those who did not, they can do so at the venue as well according to the organisers. The registration will be open till noon.
