SINGLE FAMILY RESIDENCE IN THE CITY OF FUKUOKA. with the father often away from home due to work, a concept was created centered around the sense of security, yet without compromising
openness or livability. to do this, the home became a balancing act of interior and exterior, with other ideas — such as the structure’s stability-evoking low height — integrated within.
entrance a wall of wooden slats sets the pace for the design, through which is located a wide passage that circumnavigates the entire interior. all rooms, including the children’s’ rooms,
bath, kitchen, living and dining areas are directly accessible via the corridor. ‘WE THINK OF IT LIKE A CAMP’, SAYS MOVE DESIGN, ‘EVERYONE PITCHES A TENT AROUND THE LIVING AND DINING ROOMS.’
