schipluiden-based atelier gras has designed ‘eethuis’, an edible green house in appeltern, the netherlands. charmingly translated to literally mean, ‘eat house’, the project consists of
plastic produce crates, mesh and packed soil to grow vegetables along its structure.
lasting through the summer season, the design’s temporary nature called for a modular system that was easy to take apart with reusable materials. the scaffolding ensures a quick and easy
disassembly while the plastic crates can be reused. ‘eethuis’ is accessible to everyone and aims to encourage the practice of maintaining a home-grow vegetable garden.
