collecting their shiny new consoles. As posted on Reddit, one cashier spent the midnight launch of the console stapling receipts to boxes, likely in an attempt to be helpful. Sadly, because

Nintendo packages the Switch 2's internal display close to the top of the box, the stapler somehow left literal holes in some consoles, rendering preorder customers less than impressed.

Here's all we know. SWITCH 2 CONSOLES 'STAPLED' in a Reddit thread that has since been removed for highlighting a location of a store, new Switch 2 owners explained that

“Midnight release went bad for me,” the post was titled, and it's hard to argue with that kind of luck—except this seemingly wasn't an isolated incident. Other comments suggest

that the 'Super Stapler' might have claimed plenty of Switch 2 victims yesterday. "Someone's definitely getting fired," one comment reads, while another said

"Bro close the entire store at this point". "Holy f***, could you imagine f****** up hundreds of consoles because you couldn't use tape," another added. Other posts

on social media have suggested the same issue befell plenty of unfortunate customers. As you can see from the example below, the staple marks are even visible when the console is switched

on. While it's not uncommon for new hardware to be hit by error codes, it's not often thousands of dollars of product are damaged by the retailer selling it. Article continues
