IT WILL BE THE SECOND DIRECT LINK BETWEEN THE SOUTH-WEST OF FRANCE AND ENGLAND Low-cost carrier Ryanair will launch a new summer service between Bristol and Touloue-Blagnac airport. Flying
twice-weekly on Tuesdays and Saturdays, the route opens in May and runs until late October. Tickets are available for £14.99 one-way on the Ryanair website. It further strengthens the
links between the two airports, as budget rival easyJet also runs a service between the two cities three times per week (Monday, Wednesday, and Friday). The easyJet route is being maintained
this summer despite the number of flights from Toulouse being slashed by the airline as it removes its base from the airport this April. The Bristol route is the only UK flight to be
maintained by the airline this summer from the French city. Read more: EasyJet confirms closure of Toulouse base from April: UK flight maintained IS TOULOUSE BECOMING A RYANAIR HOTSPOT?
Similarly, Ryanair is gearing up to shift focus in France, potentially pulling out of regional airports in favour of larger cities including Toulouse. The airline announced it will pull out
of regional Paris-Varty (XCR), the first of potentially 10 airports it will end services to in response to increased airplane ticket taxes introduced in the 2025 budget. Read more: Ryanair
to withdraw from airport in north of France However, it has announced several new routes for the summer season to and from French airports. This includes two summer services from
Toulouse-Blagnac to Manchester and Budapest (Hungary). Read more: Three new flight routes announced for south-west France including one to UK The airline may be attempting to cut into the
low-cost hole left by easyJet at the airport, although this will become clearer over the summer if the airline axes more regional services.
