AARP Podcast Gives Listeners a Fresh ‘Take on Today’

If you’re looking for the latest insights on health, work, money, aging, entertainment and other topics, it just became easier to find them. 


AARP has launched a weekly podcast called An AARP Take on Today that features in-depth interviews with guest experts. The podcasts will be hosted by Bob Edwards, an acclaimed journalist and


well-known voice from his years as the original and longtime host of NPR’s Morning Edition.

The first three episodes are now available. They cover:

Investments in cutting-edge dementia research, with Sarah Lock, executive director of the Global Council on Brain Health  The


influence of age 50-plus voters in the 2018 midterm elections, with John Hishta, senior vice president of Campaigns for AARPThe devastating toll that social isolation can take on older


Americans, with Lisa Marsh Ryerson, president of AARP Foundation.


These podcasts and subsequent ones can be streamed and downloaded at aarp.org/podcasts. They are also available at Apple podcasts, Google Play, Stitcher, Spotify and TuneIn. 


New podcasts will be available on Thursdays.

AARP’s first podcast series, The Perfect Scam,  profiled outrageous consumer scams with commentary from FBI fraud consultant Frank Abagnale.
